I am a 57 year old post menopausal female who does not have diabetes. I would like to lose some weight though, so last week I did a 40 hour fast ( first time ever and it wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be) followed by time restricted eating for the rest of the week . I didn’t lose an ounce 😢. I am wondering if, because I am post menopausal, and the fact that my weight is creeping up, if I am becoming gradually insulin resistant and that this is the reason why I didn’t lose weight ? I am thinking of still fasting and doing TRE and at the same time monitoring my insulin levels to see what they are and if they drop and if this ties into weight loss or not. I would be grateful for some advice on this and any suggestions for home testing insulin kits if possible ? Many thanks .
