I am having my second knee replacement on Thursday, 28th Feb. I have been reading the Clever Guts book and am convinced it can help me.I am a retired nurse/senior lecturer, so the science behind the information makes a lot of sense.
I have had rheumatoid arthritis for over 40 years, diagnosed in my 20s. My treatment for the last 15 years has been with immune-suooresant drugs, namely methotrexate and Etanercept. I stopped taking methotrexate 4 years ago as the side effects were too much to deal with. Etaercept alone has kept my symptoms under control, though I have damaged joints due to long-standing inflammation.
I am looking forward to starting the Clever Guts programme when I am fully mobile again in a few weeks. Any advice would be gratefully received.
