Disprin and other pain killers-How do they affect the gut?

    Hi,
I am wondering if there has been any study on negative or positive effects on the gut when we take disprin or other pain killers. I understand that antibiotics kill the good guys and the bad guys and I had to take a disprin for pain today. Started wondering what this would do to the organisms in my gut?

Yes some meds affect the microbiome in good ways and others bad. This an area if increasing research and research interest and yes its not just antibiotics, albeit they have the most profound effects

This is something that I hadn’t considered wrt my gut biome. I regularly take pain killers, usually ibuprofen but sometimes naproxen or co-codamol, depending on how bad the pain is. I know that NSAIDs can cause stomach problems, so I suppose it’s logical that they could affect the biome. Given that many people use OTC pain killers, I’m not surprised that there’s increasing research into the subject.
