When you say “could contribute” do you mean might or definitely does contribute to your migraines? Were you given a clear medical directive to avoid all fermented foods, or was it more of a suggestion to try limiting such foods?
At its heart, the Clever Guts Diet is simply a *properly balanced and very varied* wholefood diet. Dr Mosley actively advocates personalising it, starting with the detailed food and symptom diary (p.187-188 & p.266-267). If the need to avoid all tyramine-rich foods prevents you eating a well balanced and very varied diet you might ask your family doctor for a referral to a registered dietician. If you are willing and able to experiment, you may well find you can tolerate modest ‘doses’ of some fermented foods but not others. An alternative is a freeze-dried probiotic in capsule form, such as Nexabiotic. But please do check with your doctor or pharmacist.
HTH.
Thanks for your helpful response. It was more of a recommendation, which seems to work, along with giving up red wine.
